We are seeking a
Senior Associate with
5-10 years’ PAE to join our busy practice in out
Brisbane or
Maroochydore offices. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-level legal expertise in
planning and environment law,
native title, and
energy and resources. You will work with a variety of clients, including government bodies, private enterprises, and industry stakeholders, offering strategic advice and representation in complex legal matters.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Planning & Environment Law: Managing a wide range of matters, from providing detailed legal advice on regulatory compliance to handling litigation involving planning approvals and enforcement actions.
- Native Title & Cultural Heritage: Advising on applications for determination of native title, negotiating ILUAs, and drafting agreements that respect cultural heritage requirements.
- Energy & Resources: Providing guidance on compensation agreements, renewable energy projects (e.g., wind, solar, and battery storage), and leasing matters related to resource management.
- Mentorship & Leadership: As a Senior Associate, you will play a crucial role in mentoring junior lawyers, guiding their development, and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
About You The ideal candidate will have:
- 5-10 years’ PAE with a focus on planning and environment law, native title, and energy and resources.
- Proven track record of managing complex legal matters independently, with the ability to draft pleadings, review expert evidence, and prepare for court proceedings.
- Experience in client management, able to build and maintain strong client relationships while providing clear, strategic advice.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high level of attention to detail.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a desire to support the growth of junior team members.
