Financial Accountant My client is an exciting and fast growing higher education group branching in to the Australian market. They are looking for a dynamic qualified Financial Accountant to join their team on an initial 6 month contract with a view to extend. They are looking for someone to start immediately. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the submission of monthly P&L and balance sheet reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Contribute to external and internal reporting needs, including quarterly forecasts and bi-annual internal audit control submissions.
  • Take responsibility for relevant month-end processes, including accruals, provisions, and data review. Provide value-added analysis to business partners.
  • Maintain the integrity of the ledger by managing relevant balance sheet captions, performing reconciliations, and collaborating with the finance team to enhance data quality.
  • Guide team members in improving their balance sheet reconciliations and sign off on reconciliations as needed.
  • Take ownership of new areas related to the IFRS transition, including calculating journals and managing team responsibilities.
  • a key role in managing year-end audit processes, ensuring that group reporting and statutory deadlines are met.
  • Undertake special projects in response to specific business needs.
About you: 
  • Fully Qualified Accountant CA/CPA
  • Immediately Available 
  • Ideally previous experience within Media/education/property 
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Solid previous experience within Financial Accountant 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company and with external auditors
