Experienced Legal Secretary
About the Firm:The Andersen Partnership has been instructed to find an experienced Legal Secretary to join a vibrant general practice firm on the Hibiscus Coast. Our client offers a wide range of legal services including commercial and company law, conveyancing, property development, asset, trust and estate planning, property sharing, separation and relationship property matters.
The firm consists of 17 staff members of diverse demographics. Although they have smaller teams within the firm, they pride themselves on fostering an inclusive, team-oriented culture where variety is key—no two days are ever the same! About the Role:
We are looking for a full-time, in-office legal secretary to support a fast-paced and efficient team, which includes one director and one senior legal executive. While the role will primarily focus on conveyancing, you’ll also have the opportunity to work on a variety of trust, estate, and private client matters.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Opening files and drafting letters of engagement
- Conducting title searches and Companies Office searches
- Liaising with clients, agents, and solicitors via phone and email
- Organising files and document management
- Drafting documents using firm precedents and ADLS Webforms
- Dictation
- Drafting settlement statements and client statements
- Attending to LINZ matters, including setting up e-dealings and preparing relevant documents
- Drafting reporting letters following settlement
- Assisting with the preparation of Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and trust documentation
- Arranging appointments and updating calendars for the team
About You: We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience in legal secretary roles, with essential experience in conveyancing
- A proactive and positive attitude
- A strong team orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with LINZ processes (highly desirable)
- Experience with ADLS is a bonus, but not essential
- Trust, Wills, and Estates experience is a plus, but not required
