Accountant/Bookeeper Full Job Description
We are partnering with a well-established and dynamic accounting firm that provides compliance, bookkeeping, and business advisory services to a diverse client base. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant/Bookkeeper to join their team.
  
About the Role:
In this role, you will support the firm's partners and senior staff by assisting clients with a blend of accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across various financial and compliance tasks while working in a supportive environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
  • Assisting in the preparation of tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and managing accounts payable/receivable.
  • Preparing accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Assisting with payroll processing, including superannuation and payroll tax compliance.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end reporting procedures.
  • Liaising with the ATO and ASIC on compliance matters for clients.
  
About You:
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Progressing towards or planning to complete CA/CPA qualifications.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in Xero and MYOB accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
